How It Works
The egg freezing process—step by step
Egg freezing follows a process similar to IVF, but without fertilization. Here’s what to expect:
Step 1: Ovarian stimulation
You’ll take medications to gently stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. We’ll closely monitor your hormone levels and follicle growth with bloodwork and ultrasounds.
Step 2: Egg retrieval
When the eggs are mature, they’re retrieved during a short outpatient procedure, performed under light sedation.
Step 3: Vitrification (freezing)
Your eggs are immediately frozen using a rapid freezing process called vitrification, which helps preserve their quality.
Step 4: Cryopreservation + storage
The eggs are stored in our secure cryopreservation facility until you’re ready to use them—next year, or years from now.
