Step 1: Preparing the uterus
We’ll prescribe medications—usually estrogen and progesterone—to help thicken your uterine lining and prepare it to receive the embryo. Your progress is monitored through ultrasounds and lab tests to make sure the timing is just right.
Step 2: Thawing the embryo
When the uterus is ready, your chosen embryo is carefully thawed by our embryology team. Our team follows best-in-class freezing and thawing protocols to preserve embryo quality.
Step 3: Embryo transfer
The thawed embryo is gently placed into the uterus using a thin, flexible catheter. This quick procedure is done in-office and usually requires no anesthesia. After the transfer, you may rest for a short time before heading home.
Step 4: Support and monitoring
You’ll continue taking supportive medications and return for a pregnancy test about 9–11 days later. Our team will be with you every step of the way—no matter the outcome—to provide expert care and emotional support.
